The official Renovo pre-ride was October 18 - 21.  I joined fellow Hot Wingers Roger & Carole, riding up on Thursday with a stop first at the Chili Cook Off at Fort Indiantown Gap.  The number of participants was smaller this year, but we managed to eat more than enough chili.  Special mention to the Stryker Chili with habanera peppers - great for a cold day!  Our favorite was another milder blends, where chucks of meat, vegetables and spices along with sour cream and cheese provided a winning combination.

Then, on to Renovo via the back roads we had found a month ago.  The other arrivals on Thursday were Jim & Judy.  After dinner, we agreed to ride Friday morning, but the weather had other plans.  Heavy rain began just before we were to leave, so the covers went back on the Wings and the day was spent just hanging out, until the MD & one more Hot Wing couple arrived, having survived rain and darkness.  Just in time, we all enjoyed the seafood buffet and planned on starting early Saturday to ride a route I had found using the M.A.P.S. and the Internet.

While it was early for some, the Saturday start allowed all to ride and two Wings time to return home that night.  For those who could not attend, here are the pictures and riding videos.  I will document the route for 2008 later, which is a 225 mile loop with many places of interest along the way.  If you ever do this ride, start early and pack a lunch!
