2003 Tri-State Ride (TSR)

On a sunny day in October, Sharon & I set out for a ride through NJ NY & PA to see the leaves and just enjoy ourselves.  Heading north in NJ, we stopped at a cider mill to sample the cider and other home maid goodies.  Then we went on, crossing Schooly's Mountain (really just a big hill!) to Blairstown.  Time for coffee and a snack at the Blairstown diner.  Why goes restaurant coffee taste the best?

After the diner, we traveled on through the Delaware River Park on the NJ side, taking in the various colors of the landscape. We crossed over into New York at Port Jervis and continued to the Hawks Nest.  Several other people had the same idea for this day.  The pull off areas were filled with cars, bikes and people enjoying the view.

Past the Hawks Nest, we crossed over into PA, headed for US Route 6 to PA 507, riding along the southern side of Lake Walenpaupack.  We stopped at AJ's for the half Ruben sandwich.  After lunch we continued on PA 507 to PA 447 at Newfoundland.  447 is a very nice road with lots of twisties.

Just outside of Stroudsburg we turned onto PA 191 south, which heads over a mountain.  Very nice views of PA from the summit; could not take pictures & ride at the same time!

Daylight was running out, so at Stockerton we took PA 33 - I-78 home.  All in all, a very nice relaxing ride under perfect conditions.
