Schedule

FRIDAY - 6 PM Dinner at Rob Roy's in Smiths Falls.  Those who have been here before will remember eating out on the deck with the roar of the river's spillway right over the edge of the elevated deck.

SATURDAY - 8 AM Breakfast at the Country Diner at the north end of Smiths Falls.  At 9 AM it's some Boot'n Saddles for some riding through the twisties west of Smiths Falls.  These are mostly roads we've done before but, just to keep up the amazing excitement, I've mixed up the order from previous times.  Ok, maybe that is an overstatement but, you gotta admit, it's always been a great bunch of folks to ride with no matter where we go!   We plan to finish the ride 4-5 PM at which point we'll be at Hilliard's Happy Haven By The Rideau (Paul's Place) for a BBQ consisting of ... Whatever we find by the side of the road that ain't been rode over and flattened yet.  Paul's also got that huge deck out back where we can all sit around and brag/whine about the riding that day.

SUNDAY - 8 AM Breakfast at the Country Diner in Smiths Falls.  While Saturday is usually a longer/full-day ride, Sunday is usually a shorter, more relaxing ride and I try to include something in the Sunday ride that we haven't done or seen before.  At 9 AM it's Kick Stands Up for a ride south of Smiths Falls to a few twisties but mostly some great scenic riding down by the St. Lawrence, ending up at Upper Canada Village for lunch.  I think I found a nice coffee break place at an interesting diner in Delta.  As for dinner, I expect we'll arrive at Kemptville, about 30 minutes from Smiths Falls, around 4-5 PM for dinner at either the Family Diner which we've been to before or across the street at the Broadway Restaurant, a roadhouse/sports bar kind of menu.

Upper Canada Village (http://www.uppercanadavillage.com/night.htm) is a collection of buildings from the area that is organized to represent what a village or town from the 1800's would have looked and sounded like, including some folks in period costumes with some of them working at the kinds of tasks of the time, like horse-shoeing, etc.  The cost is $7 for basic admission, plus an additional cost of some $10 or so for such things as a wagon ride, for instance.  Mostly, those things are for families and kids so I'm expecting we'll be mostly interested in visiting the site's buildings.  I'll see if we can get a group rate.
